The Societas Ars Equestri is a non profit organization supporting historic, genealogical, and heraldic studies and sponsoring a wide variety of programs in fencing, shooting and equestrian sports in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. We are committed to preserve not only the form but also the spirit on what these sciences, arts and sports were founded. The Society’s internal organization is based on the traditional structure of Spanish guilds and corporations. We are neither a nobility association nor a chivalric or religious order. Our members come from a broad and diverse spectrum even though some of our members hold nobility titles. Funds and grants 100% of the Society operation is funded by donations of its members and different organizations that share the Society principles and goals. Membership fees cover administrative costs and membership services. Remember. Donations are tax deductible. Thanks for your interest in the Society; we hope you will enjoy browsing these pages.
Our MissionTo become an International Organization preserving the historic traditions of western civilization thru the promotion of historical studies. To promote the practice and development of the western martial arts in their current form.
ProfileThe Society of Equestrian Arts has representation in North America, South America, and Europe. In some countries the local branch has became a non profit organization following the requirements of the local laws; some other branches remain a "de facto" society always remaining a non-profit organization. Sponsorship and support for historical studies are granted each year by the Society's branches and the result of those studies are published our annual memory. Society of Equestrian Arts holds some projects with diffusion purposes as well as some monitoring programs to analyze the current development of the equestrian arts in the world. Beginning in 2007 the society will recognizes each year, individuals and institutions who played an important role in the development and diffusion of historical studies (including genealogical and heraldic research) the equestrian arts and sports. Deeply inspired by the Spanish and European tradition its organization and membership are regulated by its statutes. The “Consejo Mayor” elects local representatives.
